MFA Thesis Exhibition (Please Touch The Art)
This thesis presents a series of interactive installations that examine the relationship between artwork and viewer through participation and direct engagement. Rather than positioning the audience as passive observers, the work invites them to become active contributors, whose presence and decisions directly shape how each piece develops. Each interaction produces different outcomes depending on how people choose to engage, often marked by moments of hesitation, curiosity, and uncertainty. The installations function as evolving environments that shift through continuous interaction. As people enter and respond to the work, it gradually transforms, revealing how both individual actions and collective behavior influence the overall experience. These encounters often involve moments of decision-making and negotiation, exposing the subtle ways visitors navigate participation within a shared space. By centering participation and lived experience, this project reconsiders the role of the viewer and frames art as something continuously formed rather than fixed. It proposes an approach to exhibition making that is open and responsive, where meaning emerges through presence, interaction, and exchange.

Beyond the Veil explores the distortion of Iranian identity in Western narratives. By contrasting static, AI-generated stereotypes with an immersive environment of authentic footage from within Iran, the installation exposes algorithmic bias and invites viewers to step beyond the surface of media representation.

A tactile recreation of the world's oldest animation, a 5,200-year-old Iranian pottery vessel, brought to life through a user-activated pottery wheel and strobe light. By omitting the ancient "Tree of Life" to trap the animated subject in an infinite loop, the piece reframes an archaeological marvel as a critique of the endless cycle of modern digital consumption.

A subtle behavioral installation featuring unlabeled mandarin oranges placed at the exhibition's entrance. By leaving the gesture open to interpretation, the piece leverages visitor hesitation and choice, transforming the physical consumption and slow disappearance of the fruit into a collective, living interaction.

Reimagining the Salon: A Satirical Critique
A reimagined version of François-Auguste Biard's 1847 masterpiece, Four O'Clock at the Salon. Using a workflow of hand-drawing, digital illustration, and Photoshop, I replaced the human subjects with anthropomorphic animals from J.J. Grandville’s Public and Private Life of Animals (1842), a political satire where different creatures represent specific human social classes staging a revolt. The final work was output as a fine art print on paper.
